“Connect” emphasizes the Wiredcats’ commitment to building inclusive and meaningful relationships within our team and community. Rooted in accessibility and belonging, we ensure every individual feels welcomed and supported. Through initiatives like our partnership with John McGivney Children’s Centre, we adapt to meet diverse needs and promote effective communication. Our work to become 100% Aphasia Friendly reflects our dedication to ensuring that all voices are heard, creating an environment where everyone can thrive as we help bridge the gap between many underrepresented groups and their communities.
“Create” represents our dedication to developing opportunities that make STEM accessible to everyone. From our Women in STEM outreach event to our adaptive activities at the John McGivney Children’s Centre, we create experiences that remove barriers and encourage participation from underrepresented groups who may not otherwise receive these opportunities. By continuously expanding our outreach, we create inclusive spaces where individuals can explore, engage, and grow within STEM regardless of their abilities.
“Educate” reflects our passion for sharing knowledge in an accessible and impactful way. Through mentoring FIRST LEGO League teams, hosting community events, and leading hands-on workshops, we teach STEM concepts while fostering curiosity and critical thinking. As we continue to share our Aphasia initiative with the FIRST community, we aim to raise awareness about the communication barriers present in our community. By adapting our approach to meet diverse learning needs, we strive to ensure everyone has the opportunity to learn, empowering others to carry forward the values of STEM beyond our team.
Together, “Connect, Create, Educate.” conveys that our team is able to flourish through joint efforts as well as being well-equipped with resources to achieve outstanding results.
